The entire subnet consists of the range of IP addresses between 10.0.1.1 and 10.0.1.253. The router usually

reserves the lowest address for itself.

So the IP address ranges in this example are:

•

10.0.1.1 - used by the Apple router

•

10.0.1.2 to 10.0.1.9 - available

•

10.0.1.10 to 10.0.1.34 - used by DHCP

•

10.0.1.35 to 10.0.1.253 - available
